Best Home Solutions for Black Underarm

It's summertime again but you can't wear your sleeveless tops or swimsuit just because you're afraid that somebody will notice your black underarm? Don't have enough budget to go to a derma? You are not alone. Darkening of the armpit is one of the problems most women are facing, leaving them of to embarrassment. You may experiment some medical treatments but without understanding the causes of underarm darkening can be counterproductive.

Some of the causes of underarm darkening are perspiration build up, shaving and plucking and used of some deodorants and anti-perspirants. Do you know that chemicals in underarm products can produce an allergic or irritated reaction. Excessive rubbing of the armpits together can have a similar effect. Hormonal changes during pregnancy also may increase the body's production of melanin, leading to darkening of some parts of the body including the underarm. This may be gone few weeks after the delivery but it stays for some.

Cucumber

Procedure:

Rub cucumber slices on dark area.


Leave-on Lemon and Alum


Procedure:

Cut lemon crosswise and remove seeds.

After taking a bath, rub lemon in the armpit.

Rub powdered alum(tawas) in a circular motion. Leave.


Note: Lemon can be replace with calamansi.
Calamondin or calamansi is a vitamin C rich citrus fruit popular for its therapeutic properties.


Liquid Underarm Deodorant


Ing:

1 tsp powdered alum (tawas)

a few drops of perfume

1 cup water

Procedure:

Mix all the ingredients together and put in a spray bottle.


Yogurt and Milk Mixture

Ing:

1 tsp milk

1 tsp yogurt

1 tsp flour

Procedure:

Mix all the ingredients in a medium sized bowl. When the paste is made, place it on the armpits and leave it on for 15 minutes. Then wash with lukewarm water.

Coconut oil or Olive oil

Procedure:

Before taking a bath, massage the oil into the skin for 15 minutes. Rinse with soap and water.

Note: The Vitamin E in coconut oil and olive can help lighten dark skin over time. Olive oil also provides a high content of antioxidants.
 
If your underarm darkening persists or seems to be related to other symptoms, such as itching or tenderness, best solution is to go to a dermatologist.

  1. Lemon and tawas effective sya, based on my experience,hihihi. But it should be done religiously and it would take sometime before you see results:)
